This work is a historical representation presenting a solar cross, wheel, shield

: there are many interpretations of the rock engraving circle.

In this case it is difficult not to call it a shield, but if we put the same circle on a chariot, it becomes a wheel.

It gets a little trickier when the circle is not part of a representation of something: then most archaeologists would probably call it a sun cross (or a wheel cross).

Which was a very common symbol across much of Europe during the Bronze Age period.

It's all about this context! This sun protection wheel is located on Aspeberget in the Tanum World Heritage Site.
