This work is a historical representation, representing the solar horse.

There is a theory about how Bronze Age people explained the suns journey across the sky that might apply today.

The idea is that the sun was pulled by a horse during the day, then when night came, this duty was instead taken over by a ship.

There are many illustrations of these sun horses and night ships on bronze razors from the period and also, as you can see, on the rock carvings of Bohuslän.

This site is called Balken and is located in the north-eastern corner of the World Heritage area.

The most grandiose representation of this thought is the Trundholm sun chariot which can be appreciated at the National Museum of Denmark in Køpenhavn.
