 The original granite stone is c. 2.2 m high, 1.2 m wide and 0.5 m thick.

 The first part of the rune text
 starts at the left end of the animal. The second part starts at the right end of the animal.

 They had this stone erected in memory of their father Arngísl. May the gods help his spirit. Thorfastr carved the runes. Notes
 U 599 is also attributed to Thorfastr, and perhaps also L 300.
